Indeed, with our city trip to Paris, we’re going back to the source — where it all began 41 years ago. This isn’t just an ordinary city trip, but a surprising discovery of Paris and its people. We won’t enter the Louvre through the main entrance, but through the shopping gallery on Rue de Rivoli. We won’t just walk past the chic boutiques — we’ll step inside! Like true Arnout Houbens, we’ll wander through Paris in search of the real Parisians, the ones with a story to tell.Who will return with the funniest, happiest, or most exciting anecdote? Will you manage to arrange a visit for us to one of Paris’s most luxurious hotels or an exclusive boutique? Fun challenges like these help us learn to dare… to speak! A basic knowledge of French, enough to handle everyday conversations, is required —but together, we’ll definitely overcome our hesitation. Paris takes center stage: historical role-playing, music and films featuring the city, street interviews, debates on current French topics, and a Time’s Up game with famous French personalities…

For our language camp in Paris, we deliberately chose a comfortable and reliable 3-star hotel: ibis Paris La Défense Centre. Located on the edge of Paris, in the modern La Défense district, this hotel is the perfect base for exploring the French capital. Thanks to its location between the Grande Arche and the Arc de Triomphe, we are just a short distance from several major landmarks.

One of its greatest advantages is the excellent metro connection: the Esplanade de la Défense station (line 1), just a short walk from the hotel, takes us within minutes to the Palais des Congrès, the Champs-Élysées, the historic city centre and various train links. This way, we don’t lose time on transport and can fully immerse ourselves in the city and the language.

The hotel features a restaurant, bar and comfortable rooms with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms offer views of the Seine, adding a unique Parisian atmosphere. In the morning, we start the day with an extensive breakfast buffet before continuing our activities in the city.

A language camp in Paris is the perfect opportunity to truly practise your French. In this vibrant city, you learn not only to dare to speak, but also to use the language in real situations: in the metro, in shops, during interviews with locals or through city challenges.

Together, we learn how to navigate the metro system: reading the map, planning our routes and changing lines with confidence. On foot and by metro, we cross the entire city during our very own “Paris Express”, discovering Paris just like real Parisians do.

We finish the week at the top of the Eiffel Tower, enjoying an unforgettable view over the city.

After this language camp, you’ll know Paris inside and out and you’ll speak French with confidence — just like a true Parisian.

CLIP wants to offer young people more than just a great trip: we also aim to encourage social engagement. That’s why, since 2022, we have included a social project in our Paris citytrip for the oldest participants. It allows us to reflect on societal issues while building meaningful connections with the local community.

By travelling to Paris, we return to the place where the CLIP story began 41 years ago. This is not an ordinary citytrip, but a surprising discovery of the city and its people. Who will come back with the funniest or most exciting anecdote? Will you manage to arrange a visit to a luxury hotel or an exclusive boutique? These challenges help us develop the courage to speak. A basic knowledge of French is enough—together we’ll overcome any hesitation.

Throughout the week, Paris plays the leading role: historical role-plays, music and films, street interviews, debates on French current affairs, a Time’s Up with French characters… Paris becomes both the backdrop and the inspiration for a unique language experience.

We travel together by coach for both the outward and return journey. We kindly ask you to be at your boarding point 30 minutes before departure, so we can leave on time. If your boarding point changes during the week before departure, it can no longer be updated online—please inform the office in that case.

For the outward journey, we meet 30 minutes in advance and depart from Leuven at 8:00, Groot-Bijgaarden at 8:45, and Ghent-Dampoort at 9:30. The return journey is scheduled for Ghent-Dampoort at 19:00, Groot-Bijgaarden at 19:45, and Leuven at 20:30.

The price includes half-board accommodation (breakfast and dinner), round-trip coach transport, local transportation, entrance to the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou and the Eiffel Tower, a Bateaux Mouches boat tour, and one local workshop. It does not include lunch, optional activities (often free) and the associated transport (€1.50 per ride), pocket money for personal expenses, or entrance to a Disney park.
