Highlights

Sunny English

Our language holidya in Malta has always been one of our showpieces. Youngsters from 14 to 19 years old can have a great time here. English is the spoken language from morning to night. For this trip you need a basic knowledge of English, so that you can engage in a simple conversation.

Those who want can learn to dive in the Mediterranean here. Don't feel like it? No worries, we have an extensive "Splash and Sport" program for you. Something for everyone!

We explore the capital Valletta, visit the historic city of Mdina and enjoy a barbecue and a beautiful sunset on Golden Bay beach. Highlight on the program is the snorkel excursion to Blue Lagoon and the day in Gozo that you can organize yourself.

A seaside hotel with swimming pool

Who wouldn't want to learn English in a southern climate on an island in the Mediterranean? No English 'stiff upper lip' but warm heartiness, no rainy summer but sunny Malta!

We stay at the Buccaneers Boutique Guesthouse a cozy and comfortable guesthouse, located in St. Paul's Bay, in northern Malta. We sleep together with 3 to 5 people in spacious and modern rooms with private bathrooms and air conditioning.

An added bonus is the rooftop terrace with swimming pool where we occasionally cool off during language workshops.

Mediterranean and British cuisine

We stay in full board and really enjoy Mediterranean and British cuisine here. In the morning there is a continental breakfast buffet with a variety of cereals, bread and charcuterie, eggs, fruit and yogurt.

At noon, a picnic is on the menu.

In the evening we are treated to a  mediterranean menu. You can choose from a wide range:  risotto, pasta, chicken, fish, and many other exquisite dishes. After the main course, you can go pick your favourite dessert. On a specific night, we even organize a barbecue on the beach.

Language animation and language learning with English as the spoken language

During this holiday we speak English, night and day!

The fear of speaking English is overcome with the help of teambuilding activities. The positive comments with rewards at the end of the week - both for the group and the individual participants - are a istimulant.

We assume that each participant has sufficient basic knowledge of English to participate in common conversations. Every 45 minutes, you work with another leader in an active way on drama, English music, street interviews, debates, vocabulary games, video, common mistakes... The names of the language workshops do not lie: The ABC of Discussion, Buzz it, Water war... Moreover, during an activity we frequenty dive into the pool or the sea... for a real language bath.

As for the language activities we often hit the streets for conversationswith the perfectly bilingual and well understandable population. After all, Malta was under British rule for a long time. Everywhere the friendly Maltese people are ready to help and have a chat...

Variation and movementare  incorporated in this formula. Not without reason, the organization's trademark is: LEARNING IS FUN!

When it comes to the language perfection formula, the bar is raised. In a playful way, the leader corrects language mistakes when necessary and encourages participants to take their English to ta higher level.

Island exploration

One specific day, we go to the Blue Lagoon by boat, and  we go snorkeling there in the crystal-clear water among the brightly coloured fish. We explore the lively capital Valletta and the bustling city of Sliema on a big quest (Malta Express). On Sunday morning we visit the fish market of colorful Marsaxlokk and take a dip in the azure waters of St. Peter's Pool. afterwards On Golden Bay beach, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset after a delicious BBQ.

What everyone is really looking forward to is the day trip to sister island Gozo, Malta's greener brother. For this, we take the hop on hop off bus. In small groups you can draw up and experience your own program in consultation with the leader. Highlights include the capital's Citadel, the red sand beach, the miraculous Ta'Pina church or possibly a water sports adventure in Xlendi Bay (subject to supplement).

Local festivities are also included in the program! Did you know that Malta has 365 churches and almost as many patron saints? Each village celebrates its patron saint with a festa : this is accompanied by a fireworks display like you have never seen before. Such occasions we cannot let pass by!

Language holiday with varied entertainment program

The hotel, the village and the region are ideal for a varied entertainment program with sports, adventure, social, tourist and cultural elements.

The CLIP team provides a well-stocked entertainment program. We swing away at Swing Palace, unravel the mystery at a real-life cluedo game and get coddled during an intimate evening. In addition to interactive city games and entertaining evening activities, we frequently jump into the water for team building activities or discuss issues in the shade of a palm tree.

Options

You can choose between 2 different options. You will be working on the chosen option for four half days.

Option 1: diving

The first three half days you dive, first in sheltered water and then twice in open water. You learn to breathe underwater and "talk" using gestures. You glide through the water like a fish and become part of the underwater world for a while. The depth limit is extended daily, so you'll discover new fish and plant species each time you dive. We descend to a maximum depth of ten meters. For the fourth session, we head to the beach for a mix of beach and water games.

For this option we charge a supplement of € 55. If you would also like an official Scuba Diver certification (SSI - equivalent to the PADI certification), this three-day course costs € 165. You will then receive your certification as an SSI Scuba Diver (this certification can be upgraded to SSI Open Water Diver with some additional training). The theoretical manual of this course will be sent to you on beforehand and should be read before departure.

Option 2: splash and sport

For four half days you will enjoy Malta's sporting opportunities. The first day we keep our balance on SUP boards, the latest trend in water sports land.

The second session consists of a mix of sports and team-building activities on the beach (beach volleyball, Kubb). And thirdly, finally, you can relax in the Splash & Fun water park, an outdoor subtropical swimming pool.

The last day you can choose between a diving initiation (supplement of €25) or sea canoeing. Refreshing and exciting.

Extra freedom for the oldest age group

Malta attracts a good number of older participants each time. They are coddled. At M02, M03 and M04 they follow the normal program, but specific accents are regularly being put.

During the game of cluedo, the 17-year-olds become actors; during the evening entertainment casino, they provide the entertainment. As a reward, they get to stay up longer in the evening. How about a movie night or a terrace? For example, one evening we are exploring St Julian's. During M01, M05 and M06, the over-17s enjoy a special treatment. More information on this can be found here.
