Highlights

Luxury cruise

A language cruise, who would have dared to dream? Truly unique for a language vacation: no hotel, no house, but a glamorous MSC boat. This language vacation is ideal for those who want to see the world while perfecting their French.

In 2024 we will visit Marseilles, Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valletta and Barcelona. This language vacation is entirely focused on young people who want to see and experience something. We explore these cities in an (inter)active way and leave the beaten track! Action is key and you will notice that!

Cruise ship as hotel

This situation is unique for a language vacation: not a description of a hotel, but of a boat, and then not an ordinary one. We sleep in cabins of 4 people. On the technical sheet we read that the MSC World Europa - for that is the name of our lodging - is 333m long and 47m wide. 2138 crew members are responsible for 6762 passengers accommodated in 2026 cabins spread over 22 decks... Passengers and staff come from everywhere.

Of course, there is no shortage of high-profile facilities on this glamorous ship: 'body & soul' are pampered in the fitness and the 7 (indoor) swimming and whirlpool pools. For relaxation and entertainment, the aqua park, disco, theater and sports grounds provide. During the days at sea we can enjoy these extensively.

The food on board

Hungry stomachs can visit the several à la carte restaurants and a self-service restaurant where there is something to eat almost all day.

Breakfast and (when on board) lunch we take at the buffet on deck. Breakfast is bountiful: fruit, fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, bread, pistolets, croissants, gingerbread, charcuterie, smoked salmon, eggs, fruit juice, coffee, tea... There is simply no end to it.

When we are on board in the afternoon , we are spoiled with a wide choice of salads, pastas, fish, meat and desserts (pastries, fruit...). For those for whom this would not be enough, the snack bar serves pizzas, hamburgers, hot dogs and fries.

Dinner will be served à la carte in the restaurant. Each day we culinarily explore a different Italian region with accompanying regional dishes (MSC is an Italian shipping company, after all). You can choose from the different courses ... or take it all. The pleasant service by your personal waiter, you get for free! Bet you never leave here hungry!

Language-in-travel formula

Those who choose this language vacation will speak French all the time, from morning to night. We work around language fluency and correct use of language

In addition to the contact activities and the teambuilding language workshops on the boat, there are of course the typical CLIPtoppers with the locals. In addition, everyone puts their best sailor's foot forward to be elected the one and only Capitain Jacques. Both anciens and new participants can sleep on both ears: the activities are adapted annually. Moreover, this language camp is aimed at an older age group that would like to see and experience something during their vacation. Our program makers are aware of this and will serve language-in-travel menus to savour.

Excursions France and Italy

The cruise begins and ends in Marseilles, the country's best-known and most populous metropolis after Paris and Lyon.

Afterwards, we will stop in Genoa, Italy's main port city. Here we go on a search for the egg of Columbus, Genoa's most famous resident. The visit to this beautiful, historic city with its static piazzas, wide shopping streets and old city center leaves a deep impression.

On day 3, we head to Naples. Here we do an express through the city; after all, it is one of Italy's ancient jewels. With a vibrant historic center around a striking harbor bay, architectural landmarks and masterpiece artworks, this city is a gem to visit. The dormant volcano Mount Vesuvius also offers a lot of inspiration as an instagram post.

Tuesday will undoubtedly be one of the best days of the trip. We will land in Messina in beautiful Sicily, and tour the most beautiful monuments such as the Duomo, the reconstruction of a 12th-century cathedral.

Wednesday we arrive in Valletta, the capital of Malta. A city game will take us past all the important and beautiful sights of this city.

On Thursday, we are at sea for a full day. Then we can enjoy all that the boat has to offer.

Afterwards, the trip heads to Barcelona, Spain's second largest city and a must do for fans of Gaudi and tapas. French is fairly widely spoken here and we will find opportunities to put our language skills to the test. In the afternoon we offer a number of options here, such as a visit to the Sagrada Familia, a bike ride through the city, a walk through the old town....

Finally, we dock in Marseille for a final visit to this beautiful French city. A fantastic city to end in and perfect our French some more!

Active city exploration

We do not explore the different cities in a classical or passive way. Action is key. For example, in some places we guide our own group. Moreover, we also really make time for local contacts. We read the map, look up bus or train schedules... Through well-guided activities, you take your first steps as an independent globetrotter. Bet this will provide a boost to the group atmosphere!

Entertainment, self-reliance and team spirit are spices that flavor every CLIP trip. One participant testifies : 'Next year I will go on a trip alone. I have learned how to do it by myself.'

If you can finish this with a personal touch you will undoubtedly achieve the wow effect we are all about.
