Highlights

Cruise ship as hotel

This situation is unique for a language vacation: not a description of a hotel, but of a boat, and then not an ordinary one. We sleep in cabins of 4 people.

On the technical sheet we read that the MSC Splendida - for that is the name of our lodge - is 333m long and 38m wide. 1313 crew members are responsible for 3900 passengers accommodated in 1637 staterooms spread over 18 decks... Passengers and staff come from all over.

Of course, there is no shortage of high-profile facilities on this glamorous ship: 'body & soul' are pampered in the gym, in the 5 pools and the12 whirlpools. Relaxation and entertainment are provided by the aqua park, disco, theater and sports grounds. During the days at sea we can enjoy these extensively.

The food on board

Hungry stomachs can visit the various à la carte restaurants and a self-service restaurant where there is something to eat almost all day.

Breakfast and (when on board) lunch we take at the buffet on deck.

Dinner will be served à la carte in the restaurant. Each day we culinarily explore a different Italian region with accompanying regional dishes (MSC is an Italian shipping company, after all). You can choose from the different courses ... or take it all. The pleasant service by your personal waiter, you get for free! Bet you never leave here hungry!

Language-in-travel formula

Those who choose this language vacation will speak English all the time, from morning to night.

Besides the contact activities and group-forming workshops on the boat, there are of course the typical CLIPtoppers with locals. Both ancients and new participants can sleep on both ears: the activities are adapted annually.

Out and about in France, Spain and Italy

The cruise begins and ends in Marseilles, the country's most famous and most populous metropolis after Paris and Lyon.

Tarragona is the place where history meets adventure! This bustling Mediterranean city is known for its ancient Roman ruins, including a spectacular amphitheater overlooking the beach. Stroll through the narrow streets of the old town and discover trendy stores and ice creams to dream of!

Valencia is a city full of surprises! Visit the futuristic Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències with an impressive aquarium and interactive museums. For some action, bike through the Turia Gardens (exclusive), a giant park on an ancient riverbed. Did you know that the city is home to the original paella? End your day with a delicious horchata and discover why Valencia never bores!

On Sunday, we spend a full day at sea. Then we enjoy all that the boat has to offer.

On Monday, we dock in Livorno, Italy. This port city is the place for a mix of culture and fun! Visit the Venetian quarter with its canals, perfect for a cool selfie. The Terrazza Mascagni is a large promenade with black and white tiles, perfect for hanging out and watching street performers.

In Civitavecchia, you can hear it - Rome is calling! Get ready to stroll through the centuries in the city where history, art and adventure meet. Stroll through charming streets, admire iconic sites like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, and taste the most delicious gelato ever. This city is one big open-air museum that you simply must experience! Did you know that the Trevi Fountain collects around €3,000 in coins every day, all of which go to charity?

Finally, we dock in Marseilles for a final visit to this beautiful French city.

Active city exploration

We do not explore the different cities in a classical or passive way. Action is key. For example, in some places we guide our own group. Moreover, we also really make time for local contacts. We read the map, look up bus or train schedules... Through well-guided activities, you take your first steps as an independent globetrotter. Bet this will provide a boost to the group atmosphere!

Entertainment, self-reliance and team spirit are spices that flavor every CLIP trip. One participant testifies : 'Next year I will go on a trip alone. I have learned how to do it by myself.'

If you can finish this with a personal touch you will undoubtedly achieve the wow effect we are all about.
