Highlights

Learning English with a view on the British countryside

Are you between 13 and 15 years old and can you already have a brief conversation in English (e.g. introduce yourself or answer questions about your hobbies)? Then our new language holiday in Doddington is definitely something for you! Here we work mainly on language fluency. The working language is English from morning to evening, and is really put into practice. We go to town several times to have a chat with the locals, visit beautiful Canterbury, medieval Faversham with its lively market, and Leeds Castle...

A house among the fields

Palace Farm Hostel and Campsite is located in southern England, more specifically in Doddington. We lodge in spacious rooms from four to eight people, with separate bathrooms. Quite cozy and an ideal base camp for a fantastic week. Accomodation in full board.

Typical English cuisine

We start the day with a continental breakfast. Sometimes, we treat the youngsters to a full English breakfast: eggs, bacon, sausages... Cereals, bread and toppings (jam, cheese, choco...) are also provided. At noon we picnic in the garden, the park or in the city with a packed lunch that we prepare ourselves at breakfast. In the evening, variety is the key... We provide a barbecue, make pizza, eat in a real English pub... How about fish and chips, chicken with baked potatoes or lasagna? And cheesecake or ice cream for dessert? All British style, of course.

Language animation

The main language during this language holiday is English. In the language animation formula, we work mainly on fluency.

With awesome teambuilding activities, we overcome the initial hesitation to speak English. The positive comments and rewards at the end of the week - for both group and individual participants - are an extra stimulus.

Every 45 minutes you get to work with a different tutor in an active way on drama, English music, street interviews, debates, vocabulary games, video... The names of the language workshops speak for themselves: Sea Battle, Grammonster, Bucket List... Frequently we literally dive into the sea for an activity and have a real language bath there... Parks, beaches and the hotel are the settings for our language workshops.

Variety and movement are rooted in this formula. Learning becomes fun in this language swirl. It's the organization's trademark!

We often hit the streets to contact locals. The friendly Brits are immediately willing to help and have a chat.

12-year-olds are also welcome here. Please give us a call.

On a language excursion in England

The hotel is an excellent starting point for excursions by bus into the County of Kent. Fun and varied language practice with the local people go hand in hand. On market day, we enter the city center of Faversham to chat with local residents.

Canterbury we hit with a city game:  genuinely citybound.

We also take a day trip to medieval Faversham, visit the weekly market there and tour the town highlights during the Faversham Express.

Varied animations on language camp

The CLIP team provides a bountiful and sportive entertainment program. We track down a lost painting, have an interactive city game, play sports in one of the parks, quiz in the evening, dance and relax during acitivities such as 'Finding Banksy', 'Climbing the social ladder' or 'Wifi in Tahiti'...

A day's exploration of Leeds Castle is also on our list. We venture, feverishly looking for the exit, into a life-size labyrinth, imagine ourselves landlords and ladies as we go on a quest on the immense domain, and live it up during a game of mini golf.

After a day filled with fun and adventure, we often get together cozily in the garden, surrounded by candles and marshmallows.
