Highlights

Do you love sports and adventure? And have you already mastered enough basic French to express yourself in short, easy conversations? Then our French-speaking ski holiday in Italy is definitely for you.

In Italy, CLIP plunges into the outside world as much as possible. We do not only ski or snowboard on the slopes. Some language workshops actually take place there. Moreover it's not just one resort we visit. Apart from Kronplatz we also discover Vals and Sella Ronda (600 km of tracks). We bet that both your French and your skiing or snowboarding skills will improve significantly!

Modern hotel with delicious Italian cuisine

Pension Sonnenhof in Raas is a wonderful youth hotel with a vast lounge infrastructure. The rooms are spacious and have their own shower and toilet. The accomodation is centrally located in South Tyrol between Kronplatz and Sella Ronda.

The extensive breakfast buffet offers a wide and diverse choice: bread, buns, cereals, jam, chocolate spread, yogurt, fresh fruit, cold cuts, cheese, (chocolate) milk, fruit juice, coffee and tea.

In the morning we prepare our own picnic and take it, together with an afternoon snack, to the slopes.

In the evening, a copious three-course meal awaits us. We start with a commodious salad buffet and a starter (pasta, cheese croquettes, lasagna, soup, risotto...). The main course comprises meat (schnitzel, hamburger...), hot vegetables and potatoes, croquettes, French fries, gratin... We finish the meal with a finger licking dessert : apfelstrudel, tiramisu, pastries, ice cream...

Language holidays in a heavenly ski resort

During the day you will be guided by our own ski or snowboard instructors in French. They aim to provide a good balance between exercises and exploration of the skiing area. A level test on the first day determines which group you will be assigned to.

Many ski (and language) formulas are limited to one mountain, which offers only restricted skiing possibilities. For this language camp, CLIP really pulls out all the stops of this amazing area.

During Carnival holidays, we opt for a 6-day ski pass. This way, there is enough time on the first day to try on the equipment and get acquainted with one another through fun contact activities. The start of a deep dive into language immersion.  At Easter, we go for a 7-day pass.

We start with Kronplatz where we spend three/four days of skiing and snowboarding. But there's a lot more to come after this. For two days, we head to Vals - Meranzen or Plose (not at Easter): two charming resorts with blazing sunshine and perfectly groomed slopes.

Top of the bill is the impressive Sella Ronda (one day at spring break, two days at Easter) (more than 600 km of slopes), a huge ski area with stunning views of the Dolomites. You can make it a real marathon and do the circuit around the Sella. Thanks to a unique concatenation of slopes and elevators, you can make a circle without ever doing the same run.

For the more daring there is a snowpark in Kronplatz, a mega project with kickers, rails and boxes for freeriders and snowboarders. There are also several options for less experienced skiers. The new snowpark is one of the largest of its kind.

An absolute asset is the snow guarantee throughout the ski season. Even when the snow has disappeared elsewhere, skiing and snowboarding is still possible here.

Snow depths on the slopes can be found here: Bruneck, Corvara.

On the way back we visit a typical northern Italian town, Brunico or Brixen and soak up local culture. A delicious Italian ice cream is part of this package! This trip to South Tyrol is clearly more than just a sporty journey!

Language camp with language animation on the road

In the middle of such a wonderful skiing area, it would be a shame to host French language animations indoors. In Kronplatz, the tutors are real "traveling teachers". All available hours on the slopes are used and there's no skimping on skiing or snowboard time. Why not doing a language activity in or on the ski lift? And what about singing French chansons during the bus ride?

French language immersion on language holiday

Here we work on language fluency (youngest age group) and correct language use (oldest age group). French is of course the spoken language from rising to bedtime, as it is generally accepted that this produces the best results. Therefore, sufficient prior knowledge of French is assumed. When in doubt, please contact the office.

In the language workshops, you work in an active way on drama, French music, debates, vocabulary games, common mistakes... Variation and movement are ingrained in this formula. In this language whirl, learning becomes fun, the organization's trademark.

The names of the language workshops speak for themselves : Qui suis-je, Discudisco, Time's Up ...

In the evening we organize language workshops at the hotel, during the day there are an hour's language workshops on the slopes. Ever heard of snowboard bis or avalanche? On the bus, language animation is provided.

Top of the bill is the Kronplatz Express. After a day full of mysterious riddles on and around the slopes, we set off on an evening dropping. Who will be the first to find its way back?

Optional choice of tobogganing (to be paid extra on site, price to be known later)
